Low Voltage Telecom Apprentice

The Cabling Technician is responsible for cabling and termination of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, CATV, fiber and various other wiring disciplines. They are also responsible for testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems.

Low Voltage Telecom Technician

The Cabling Technician is responsible for cabling and termination of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, CATV, fiber and various other wiring disciplines. They are also responsible for testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems.

Main Responsibilities: Perform job duties independently without direct onsite supervision. Run low voltage cable in new or existing client buildings. Terminate, test and troubleshoot low voltage cabling. Install and configure conduit for low voltage cabling runs. Install and assemble racking equipment in wiring closets. Install, assemble and support termination blocks and patch panels. Run, terminate, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cables. Act as technical lead on large projects, including workload distribution to a team of peers. Mentor and train other Cable Technicians. Maintain current technical knowledge and continuously work to expand knowledge of new technology and equipment. Ability to create and edit building prints, line drawings, or CAD files.
